In September, a little dream of mine came true: I traveled to Paris to photograph an Indian couple with the Eiffel Tower as our backdrop. We based the session at Jardins du Trocadéro—one of the main (and most iconic) locations for photographing the Tower—because it offers sweeping views, elegant stonework, and beautiful lines that feel editorial and romantic.

The 7 a.m. reality at Jardins du Trocadéro (and how we made it look empty)
We met at 7 a.m., hoping for quiet. Even then, Jardins du Trocadéro draws early risers and tour groups. With smart positioning on the terraces and steps, patience between waves of people, and a little Photoshop, the final gallery feels serene—just the two of them and La Tour Eiffel.
Working around construction—and still getting variety
There was some construction near the usual vantage points, so we pivoted across Trocadéro’s terraces, balustrades, and stairways to hide barriers while keeping the Tower center stage. Paris gives you options:
- Trocadéro terraces (within Jardins du Trocadéro) for the classic wide shot
- Stairs and balustrades for leading lines and elegant frames
- Side walkways for quieter, intimate portraits
- Champ de Mars (a short hop away) for a romantic stroll with the Tower rising behind
Small shifts in angle or elevation at Trocadéro often remove distractions without losing that iconic view.

Styling notes for Indian couples (that photograph beautifully)
Whether you’re planning a pre-wedding, engagement, or post-wedding session:
- Outfit pairing: Pastels, ivory, or jewel tones glow at sunrise. A lehenga or saree pairs perfectly with a tailored suit or sherwani-inspired jacket.
- Jewelry & mehndi: Keep jewelry refined so it catches the first light.
- Footwear plan: Sneakers for moving between Trocadéro spots; switch to heels/juttis for portraits.
Light, posing, and the little gestures
Sunrise at Jardins du Trocadéro is soft and flattering—gentle shadows, a metallic glow on the Tower. For posing we always aim for cinematic and editorial. Those micro-moments—a glance after a spin, a laugh on the steps—became the hero frames.
Editing that keeps the Paris feel
I kept the edit airy and elegant: warm highlights, contrast, and minimal cleanup. Paris already does the heavy lifting; editing just polishes what the morning gave us.

Tips if you’re planning an Eiffel Tower pre-wedding shoot (from Trocadéro)
- Arrive before sunrise to claim your terrace spot and get the softest light.
- Weekdays win for fewer crowds.
- Layer up—mornings can be cool, even in September.
- Stay flexible—construction or fountains may be off; we’ll adapt.
- Logistics—larger outfits or accessories? We’ll plan transitions and check any local guidelines in advance.
Why this morning meant so much
Photographing Indian love stories is one of my favorite parts of this job—the color, grace, and meaning in every detail. Doing it at Jardins du Trocadéro with the Eiffel Tower watching over us made it extra special. It reminded me why I do this: to create images that feel like the memory of a perfect morning you never want to forget.
